Sirens/Emergency Alert System (EAS)

If you hear sirens you should tune to KFAB 1110 AM radio for local Emergency Alert System messages. These messages are coordinated between Washington County and the States of Iowa & Nebraska.

The sirens are not a signal to evacuate. EAS messages might just provide you with advance warning or requests to stay indoors for a period of time. It is important to listen to the EAS messages. If an evacuation is ordered it might only be for selected 'sub-areas'.
